Kitetime is for everyone; not just people with immediate families close by. There are no age restrictions or barriers. We are encouraging you to spend time with what ‘family’ is to you, whether it be immediate family, friends or colleagues - ultimately making moments matter with people you love. This in turns helps a Redkite family to concentrate on spending time with their family and sick child or young person.

There is no set time to take your Kitetime. It may be easier if you take it on the way to work or leave an hour or so earlier. Confirm this in consultation with your manager.

Kitetime is about spending time with your loved ones or family. This may be simply phoning a loved one overseas or playing hopscotch with your children. For suggestions check out how to spend Kitetime.

Your donation will enable Redkite to provide families who have a child or adolescent with cancer with essential emotional, financial and educational support. Redkite is about supporting not only the child or young person through the cancer journey, but the family as a whole unit; from the point of diagnosis, during treatment and when the family returns to the community. Your donation will help us reach out to the 5000 families currently going through the difficult cancer journey. See how you help.

The first step is to speak with your employer. If they unable to assist, refer them to speak with the staff at Redkite.

The one hour is simply a guideline to work from. Seek permission from your manager on how much time you would like to have to spend your Kitetime.

Yes. This would be a great way to get involved in Kitetime. Speak with your manager to discuss how it best works in your organisation, and then contact your local Redkite office.

We would welcome your contribution. The aim of Kitetime is to spend time with your friends and loved ones – we encourage you and your colleagues to do so – which in turn helps a Redkite family to do the same!

No, the aim of Kitetime is to allow employers to spread Kitetime for employees over the month of September. However, your workplace may decide to hold a family event and allow everyone to take time off together.
top ^
top ^
The vision in developing Kitetime is that it is a unique concept, and part of that is to allow flexibility to employers and employees to take their Kitetime over the month of September.

If you’re part of an organisation you’ll need to identify your Kitetime champion within your workplace and ultimately you’ll need to register or redeem your voucher.
top ^
top ^
Your Kitetime commitment is to register, stay in touch with your Kitetime champion and to have fun doing whatever you choose when you take your Kitetime.

Redkite is one of Australia’s leading childhood cancer support charities and has been providing professional care for 25 years. Redkite believes the best way to support a child or young person through cancer is to support the whole family. While up to 80% of children will be cured, intense and prolonged treatment puts profound and multiple pressures on the child and family. Redkite supports children, young people and their families through the long and often difficult journey of childhood cancer by providing essential support services which are responsive to families real needs. Visit www.redkite.org.au for more information.
